Baunei

Baunei

It is located within the Ogliastra historic territory, really close to the eastern coast. Baunei is one of the richest naturalistic and marine landscape of Sardinia for the fairytale atmosphere caused by the ‘Colgo’ plateau, the ‘Su Sterru’ chasm, the ‘Coa’ e Serra’ nuraghe and a series of natural valleys formed by rainwater, used in the past for the metal processing.

The town has a mountain aspect for the massive wall of rock that dominates it, however, it is really close to wonderful beaches such as ‘Cala Goloritzè’, ‘Cala Mariolu’ and ‘Cala Bigiala’, and to gorgeous coasts such as that of ‘Portu Petrosu’, ‘Aguglia di Pedra Longa’ and ‘Capo Montesanto’.

Santa Maria Navarrese, a Baunei hamlet, should be visited considering that it represents a prestigious holiday destination with its small tourist harbor and with the beautiful red rock of the Ogliastra island, situated about a mile from the roadstead.
